So much of life just whirls around us, often stealing our focus on those things that matter most. We search for ways to get away from it all and try to spend a little time renewing our hearts, our minds, our spirits. Just a little quiet time with a cup of tea might be all that it takes. We might need a little more than that and a trip to the nail salon for a pedicure and time in the massage chair might better fit the bill. Then there are times when our very being just screams “Calgon, take me away” and we book a trip somewhere that allows us to bask in the beauty of God’s creation. We marvel at His handiwork in creation and know that through His power all that was simply spoken into being. We then deal with disappointment that all things that have swirled around us haven’t been resolved and we still long for a rekindling of spiritual fire inside of us and the renewal of our minds. We wonder how a God so powerful can speak beauty into the creation of His world in just six days, while we desperately seek renewal, revival and rekindling, and we wait. This is what faith strength is made of.
