For Such a Time as This

As we read Scripture, it is amazing how all the pieces of God’s plan fit together in perfect symmetry whether we are reading about the character(s) or events, it just all comes together with such precision and purpose. Sometimes it may take days, or months, or years to see a result, but God has it all under control.

God gives us a ‘heads up’ in Hebrews 11:6 when He says that without faith it is impossible to please Him. So, reading about faithful people of the past, are examples and encouragement to us.

An outstanding study in the Bible is that of one of the ‘giants’ of faith – Moses. We are privileged to read of his journey from beginning to end and see his faith and obedience in action, but in doing so, we also recognize some familiar traits that we may relate to. Moses seemed to be undisciplined and impetuous at times, had such a bad temper that he killed a man, and even had the audacity to argue with God. Even with these and other fallible character traits, in Numbers 12:3 (KJV), Moses is called “the meekest man on earth.” God summoned this flawed man to do His work, and He calls us – warts and all – to do His work now. Regardless of our past, or of our many failures, God wants us, and we certainly want and need Him. Together, let Believers do “Kingdom work”, and let God do His “grace work” in our generation ‘for such a time as this.’
